Managerial Duties- Professional

  • Liaising with the Society members, Consultants, etc.
  • Site recce
  • Preparing feasibility reports
  • Attending society meetings pertaining to redevelopment
  • Relaying messages of the company to Society and vice versa
  • Attending to the needs of the company till the Project reaches the stage of execution
  • Identify newer opportunities
  • Studying title, ownership, zone, boundaries, access, sale & purchase documentation, demarcation, reservation and such other documents as well as plans
  • Preparing the agenda of the meeting, producing documents, drafting reports when required
  • Giving reminders to BD Head

Job Summary

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services necessary for the company’s construction projects. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining cost-effective inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the construction industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish terms of agreements.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project schedules.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid delays in construction projects.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to determine material needs and specifications.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends and pricing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and optimize procurement processes to achieve budgetary goals.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of construction materials and equipment.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPM, CPSM).
